Shihan Wayne Hanley has 37 years of martial arts experience, beginning his training in 1971 at the age of 11 in Soo Bahk a rare Korean martial art, gaining his first Black Belt in late 1974 at the age of 15.
When his original Instructor moved to another state of Australia, Shihan Hanley furthered his training in various other arts, including Karate and Kung Fu.
In 1983 he started his love affair with Jujutsu and other Bujutsu skills, and has been with these arts ever since.
Shihan Hanley continued to train in others arts, and holds a Dan rank in Judo and an Advanced Rank in Filipino knife fighting. He has also trained in various Bukijutsu (Japanese weapon arts) as well as European Fencing and Western style Archery for which he holds 4 State medals and numerous other trophies.

Amongst other credits Shihan Hanley has had numerous articles published in such magazines as Australasian Martial Arts Magazine and Fight Times Magazine for which Shihan Hanley was an official advisor.
From June 2003 to November 2006 Shihan Hanley was a featured columnist for Australia's premier martial arts magazine "Blitz" writting 42 monthly columns over that time, he also featured in both the 2003 and 2004 Instructors Fighting Techniques, Special Collector's Editions. Shihan Hanley was also chosen as the feature article and cover of the March 2005 issue of Bujutsu International magazine.
